I actually did not stay here yet because I canceled my trip to Fes and this booking but I felt the service was outstanding in the process Mahmoud was so kind to help me cancel my booking. They were very fast to respond by email and really nice over the phone. I didn't make Fes last week but will book here in the next few weeks when I head there. Funky Fes was great. It really compliments the artisan nature of Fes quite well. Upon my arrival to Funky I was immediately drawn to the people of the area surrounding the hostel and not the quirky Euro/Anglo inhabitants inside. When I stepped outside, I was invited to play - well learn a Moroccan card game - which I later bought in Marrakech and will gift to friends and family. Great place. Terrific location. The average rating for Cleanliness is chiefly due to the guests NOT the staff. Slobs! kirk, from USA ~ 23rd Apr 2012

Excellent hostel in terms of value for money and location (right in the medina). The hostel also offers many services and tours, like internet, breakfast and dinner, tours to the dessert, and even massages! On the negatives, the pillows where a bit smelly, and although everybody at the hostel is more or less young at 10:30 PM they are all asleep.. which was a bit strange and disappointing. However, it is a great place to stay. Antonio Emilio, from Mexico ~ 30th Apr 2012

My stay at Funky Fes was the best hostel experience I have had in all my years of traveling. The location is right in the medina which can't be beat, and the hostel itself is clean and very charming. Also a major plus is that they are super helpful with organizing tours for the guests. I went on several during my stay and they were all cheap and amazing. Traveling alone, I met so many people through this hostel and I would absolutely recommend Funky Fes to anyone! Courtney, from USA ~ 24th Mar 2012

Difficult to find. Double room very cold in winter. The staff is nice. If paying with credit card there is an additional fee.

From my experience there and talking to other travelers, this is the best hostel in Fez. The staff is very helpful and they arrainge a lot of guided tours of sights in and around Fez with other guests at the hostel. Facilities are nice and there is a nice common room with tee and coffee all day long. Breakfast is free and they also serve good and cheap dinners. I recommend it.

The best beside the Oasis in Lisboa I was so far. VERY friendly staff!!! And that was a really just renewed beautiful Riad. I mean real beautiful one. I had a four bed one and there wasbathroom with a shower that looked more like a Hamam...I was offered 1. A five Euro guided walk throgh the Medina in a group, same moment that would be done even when I would prefer to get this only for myself. In the end I had a tour - and was not charged for that. Also helpful with ANY thing. Like I got a card f

Be sure and get the red petit taxi which has a meter and you'll only pay 10-15 MAD to get there! We got jammed into a minibus and forced to pay 180! If you tell them Bab J'Did gate they can sort of find itwith help. There is a bus stop nearby you can take back to the train station for 3 MAD. The hostel is fine, breakfast is not enough, the staff is nice, the 10 dorm room has a weird old bath with no door, so you get to listen to everybody use the toilet. Kind of creepy as its unisex Owen, from USA ~ 13th Oct 2011
