One washroom shared between 10 or 12 people. No soap. Broken lockers. No common room. Sketchy location. Sketchy management.

hello boris, it's not true but your reason was why you cann't get the money back but if you need to cancel your booking, you have to be cancel 24 hours before your arrival but I even helped you to give you money back for one night, so it's just to make clear that your problem is different..... mabri funny palace

Very accommodating! The free breakfast was a plus and the staff planned our visit right when we got there, a huge plus! Oh, and they gave us the secret entrance to the Roman Forum and Colloseum so we didn't have to wait hours in the line! Ashley, from USA ~ 17th Jul 2009

No kitchen and fridge in room didn't work. Beds noisy and they make no attempt to separate men and women so if you are female be prepared to share with 3 men. Bathroom substandard and shared between 12 people. Location is good but you compromise on comfort. Nowhere to store valuables. Worst hostel I've ever stayed in.

hello alana, sorry it's really not fair to make bad coments, we do have only mixed dorm and why you made on mixed dorm then if you don't want to share with other men? and who promise you to have a kitchen? in our micro site we don't promise that so why you are complaining with that and not even have 12 people in that floor, the hole floor is noly 8 people, any ways you come here for only one night just to complain, i cann't understand your complain and hope it's gone be clear for every one. staff funny palace

Need more bathrooms!! I found it really difficult sharing a single bathroom with a big floor of people. It seemed like it was never available when we wanted to use it. Even when the shower was available we had cold water more often than not. The area also seemed very unsafe, there was a car set on fire literally just down the street from the hostel. The only positive about this place is that is is clean. I will not be staying again, there are much better hostels/budget hotels out there. William, from Canada ~ 13th Jul 2009

The best thing about Funny Palace is that the staff are friendly and welcoming- they kindly gave me a bottle of wine on arrival, recommended all the places to go in Rome with some helpful tips and gave me use of free internet! It's extremely easy to find and handy for buses to and from airport. It would be great if Funny Palace had a common room for people to meet/ drink wine/ relax after a days sightseeing- this is my only real criticism. Emma, from Scotland ~ 3rd Jul 2009

Don't be too sketched out about the check-in, it's in an internet point/laundry place. The guys working there are really nice and can help you make your way around the city. No common area, the hostel page says there is lockers, but there are only 2 safes in the room, presumably everyone in the room gets the combo, so kinda defeats the purpose. But the rooms are secure from outsiders. Location is good, 5 minutes from Termini, lots of busses and both metros. Rooms are tidied daily. Adam, from Canada ~ 26th Jun 2009

We enjoyed our stay in the funny palace the few things we did not like was we could not get a hot shower very easily in fact somedays not at all. Mabri was very nice and helpful but when your tired from traveling all the information he gives you is not helpful and the internet room did not give you the sense of privacy when you were checking emails.
