- “ This was my second time staying there and I definitley felt that it was cleaner the first time (in May of this year). There were stains on my pillow and mattress cover, as well as on the blanket given to me at reception. The room was dusty too. It is in a great location though and the bathrooms were clean and the staff were nice, so that kind of made up for the gross bedding. ”

- “ After booking and seeing the pictures of the dirty showers on Trip Advisor I was a little concerned however things were a little better than I expected although certainly not the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in !! The mattresses are worn out with springs poking through, only two plugs in whole dorm to charge phone/laptop, no reading light, shower in dorm broken, location OK but expensive compared with other hostels in Spain probably due to the lack of competition in Bilbao. ”

- “ It was a very well designed hostel (read: pretty) in a fairly good location. It had a nice, working kitchen with a good free breakfast in the morning. It was also nice and small and therefore very easy to meet others as a solo traveler. I really enjoyed my stay here. ”

- “ First of all, I learnt that if you book a top-ranked hostel, it will be full up to the roof all the time - given that in contrast to the generous hang-out space, the rooms are rather tiny, it might be a bit uncomfortable in terms of personal space. Second, the hostel is quiet at night - and the price for this would be a bit bossy style of some of the staff. So, if you don`t feel like getting bad looks upon your late night arrival from the bars, rather avoid the place. Also, one of the staff asked his junior ”

- “ Wonderful location, great staff, clean/modern facilities, and excellent atmosphere. The front desk is staffed 24 hours by very friendly staff, which made us feel safe and comfortable at all times. This was one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! I would return to Ganbara in the future, and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Bilbao. This is a terrific place to stay! ”
