We had a fantastic stay here in a room with a balcony overlooking the Ganges. Varanasi is an incredible place, but our stay at the Ganpati was the icing on the cake. The sights and smells we experienced from the comfort of our balcony will never be forgotten. The staff were very helpful and the rooftop restaurant, again with excellent views of the river, is recommended. A great base from which to explore the ghats, though finding it in the dark on arrival was a bit hazardous!

The rooms with air condition and TV are well overpriced in comparison to surrounding offerings e.g. Dolphin hotel. Felt we had been ripped off.

Had to call for the transfer from the train station - it was a wild double rickshaw ride... Good place, great view of the Ganges on Meer Ghat. You may encounter a monkey or 2 going to the toilet upstairs....

This has been one highlight of a hostel we have stayed in. Location was amazing from the balcony where you can just watch the ganga from a height and see everything thats going on. The menu was also so much what an exhausted traveller needs. Will definately return without a question.

The way to this hotel is dirty and hard to find. The free pick up service disappeared for no reason. We booked three rooms, but the staff forgot to reserve our rooms, so we waited for a long time to get only a small room for five people and they even didn't pay me back prepaid money for three rooms (They said I only get one room, so I can only get one room prepaid money back). As a result, if you don't want to make your journey a crap, it's better choose another hostel.

I had a lovely stay at Ganpathi Guest House. I don't think you could top that location, it's right in the heart of all the action, and only a short rickshaw ride to the train station.... Apart from some confustion about my pick up from the station, the staff were well organised and helpful.
