Everything is good. Fun rating is a bit lower because there arent so many foreign tourists (as the hostel is a bit out of the way). I think that most travellers would love this place if they knew about it!

I live in a neighboring town to Hangzhou and have been in the city on several occasions, but when I woke up to birds singing in willows at the edge of a lake I thought perhaps there had been a mistake and that I had not arrived in Hangzhou at all. I'm glad I sacrificed convenience to markets and "sights" for this hidden paradise. Thank you!

The staff are very friendly, willing to help someone who isn't really good in speaking Chinese. Keep it up!

The location is remoted compared to the other Mingtown on Nan Shan Lu, but contributes to its breathtaking settings. A perfect start point for a quiet stroll along the west side of the Lake, a more ambitious stroll (or bike ride) along Su Ti, or exploration into the tea farms & museum.

Each night we stayed, someone come into the room and did a head count, they did knowck before entering. This was disconcerting as I didn't feel that I needed to be monitored.

Outstanding .. Situated on a rebuilt causeway, nearly surrounded by and facing West Lake, totally away from the city itself, bringing the visitor right into the Lake's ever-changing beauty and presence. There may be a bit of a problem finding the somewhat hidden location (even taxis often needed guidance) and when going out finding a taxi at the street can be a problem, but the front desk helped me by writing my daily destinations out in Chinese. Walking ,strolling is what you want to do there anyway! We were able to get room# 227-a beautiful, large high ceiling, quiet room. there was a problem with the shower floor though. It would not contain water, which then drained unto the bathroom floor. So be ready to sacrifice a (used) bath towel to use the sink etc. Friends in # 222 -windows open to the Beijing Opera practice hall slept well-until early AM when the vocal warm ups began. I will be back-in a heartbeat.
