Gardner Hotel should be renamed "Gardner Hotel starring Antonio", he's a great guy who works at the hotel and goes out of his way to make sure you have an excellent stay in El Paso. He gave me a mini walking tour of downtown El Paso, and then guided me across the border to Juarez. Hotel is clean, well equipped kitchen, comfortable clean beds, pool table and free wifi. Highly recommended. El Paso is quiet at the moment, no tourists because of the situation in Juarez, but still worth a visit IMHO. Peter, from England ~ 2nd Dec 2009

This is a great hostel and in a great location; you could easily spend 1-2 days here without a car. If you love to dance there are several clubs within walking distance, gay and straight. I recommend renting a car so you can take some road trips. Mexico is walking distance. This hostel has character: the elevator is like those you only see in old movies.
