Geko Hostel Paraty in Paraty, Brazil

Arrived quite late on a busy weekend and what could go wrong, did: wrong type of room, still occupied etc. However, in the morning the staff helped us relocating and found us a pousada, just near by, took care of reservation and setted everything up for us. They more than made up for the inconvenient, and were really helpful about town info and tour booking when we came back to thank them Thomas, from France ~ 3rd Oct 2009

Nice hostel overall. Up to the Brazillian standard of decor and nicely located. Staff were generally quite friendly. Security was poor. Anyone could walk in during the day provided they looked like a guest, and there was nowhere to keep large amounts of luggage. I also wasn't too happy that when I extended my stay, they wanted a higher price because I hadn't booked online - I could have signed into a computer and given another 10% to hostels.com if you'd liked guys.
