The neighborhood is the worst aspect. Single female travelers, _stay away_. Don't walk north of George House after dark: even in a group, we were very uncomfortable. Walking by the Fillmore Hotel isn't so bad, but lots of people hang around at night, and we got a lot of questioning looks (and one very slow, addled man started following us). We had a group of 4 and felt fairly secure, but it's no good for single travelers. The accommodations themselves are average/nice enough, everything wa Elizabeth, from USA ~ 21st Mar 2012

I was yet another person who ended up at the secondary location (572 Sherbourne) rather than the listed one, which was annoying. They said the info was on the site but I can't find it. So beware, you might end up at either place. In my case I was 20 min farther from the conference I was attending. Jeremy, from Canada ~ 9th Nov 2011

Because we took a double bed room with our private bathroom, the address wasn't the same, it was located farther than we wanted, and that SUCKED OUT LOUD. Ginette, from Canada ~ 10th Sep 2011

The place is clean and conveniently located. We stayed in the Sherbourne location (with private bathrooms) and it was a 5 min walk to the Sherbourne metro station. In our three day stay we never saw any staff. We called them upon arrival and they explained how to get in the house and provided the codes. Never saw any other guests either. Also, the bathrooms are private indeed but VERY tiny. So a good place if you want a quiet and convenient location but not if you are looking for a "fun" atmosph Olga and Jason, from USA ~ 5th Jul 2011

i have to say the hostel itself is good and clean, but the location i noticed later it is bit dangoues especially in the evening, some strange people, people are selling sex, drugs addiction.....should come back home early, otherwise not safe Yuan, from China ~ 30th Jun 2011

Even when at first sight the neighbourhood may look bad, in reality it is secure and quiet (remember, this is Canada, not Europe or the US) but full of poor people, because of the charity accommodations near by. It is the price to pay for an excellent location, just 5 minutes to Dundas Square, the centre of the city. The hostel is a big old house, very clean and with a lot of facilities for the cheap price, like a very fast internet connection, a full kitchen to share with the other guests, Diego, from Spain ~ 1st Jul 2011
