Beautiful, scenic stay. Perfect for walks. Earplugs may be needed if young ones are staying because sound travels.

This Hostel was very difficult to find. We were under the impression that it was in the city of Wicklow because the website says Wicklow. However, it is actually in the county/state of Wicklow (nowhere near each other). The site should do a better job of explaining this. The hostel was really nice, but because we wasted SEVERAL hours getting there, we were unable to enjoy the location. Also, there are only 2 buses back to Dublin - which took away from our time there as well.

This was a wonderful, restful stop on our busy tour of Ireland. The staff was delightful, welcoming and warm. We will return if given the chance.

This hostel was situated perfectly in order to go on the hikes in the glendalough area which were absolutely beautiful and well worth the trip. However, i have many complaints about this hostel. The woman at the front desk was extremely unfriendly and a bit rude actually. There was not breakfast included which is rather unusual for hostels and rather inconvenient since there are not many places to eat in the area. Which brings me to my next point- unless you want to spend 30 € on dinner or have a car, bring your own food!! Me and my friend had to walk for a half hour in order to get into the next town to find somewhere to eat dinner, and just settled on the first place we came to because we were so tired and cold, and although it was delicious and very nice, it was very expensive (Glendalough Heather Restaurant). If you want to eat at the hotel restaurant which is close to the hostel, be prepared to pay 33€ for a 3-course meal and make a reservation ahead of time because it was all booked when we got there. Also, the hot water wasn't working in the shower, which was rather unpleasant to come back to after a 4 hr hike. But the wicklow area is by far the most beautiful i have ever seen so i highly recommend it, but try to find somewhere else to stay!

There were some mix ups with the bookings. On the web site I tried to book 2 nights but there was only one available. This was not communicated as such. It was only revealed by the web site going ahead with the booking but just for the one night. Also when I phoned about this the booking had not been entered in the booking register though it was confirmed via e-mail.

The only good thing about the hostel is the location. From there you can reach the monastic site and the lakes of Glendalough in a few minutes. But the hostel itself is very unpersonal and also dirty.
