The management is RACIST. I went to the hostel the day before to check out the place, they told me the prices online were USD when it is actually in RMB. I booked it anyway. They argued with me when I got there. After giving me the room, they called me down again to talk about the price. Also, they told my g/f that she can't stay in a mix room with me because she carries a chinese passport.

The place is brand new and pretty nice. It's clean and safe. The staff doesn't speak great English but seems used to deal with foreigner and caters well for them. The bathroom in the double room is a bit weird: the shower + toilet are a few meters away from the bed and it's a glass window, which means very little privacy. The mattress is pretty hard. Other than that, the place has a good location (a few minutes walk from Dongzhimen station) and it's quiet and safe. There is a 7/11 ri

The Golden Pineapple Youth Hostel is different than many other 'Youth Hostels'. We expected the rooms to be very small, but they are 'marriot' style sized and furnitured. The hotel is very clean, and the small restaurant in it, serves the best food we've had in China. They serve things such as american breakfast, and spaghetti bolognese. Other than this the hotel is located very central, 10 minutes walk from a nice 4 story mall, and taxi's pass in front of the hotel every minute.
