A hostel can not have any more character than this place. Even though it is sometimes maybe a bit too much character, if you're going to Tampa, it's worth staying here, just to get the experience. The downside though is that the kitchen and rooms aren't particularly clean, the beds are small, and there is no privacy.

this hostel is in the worst location possible for tampa, in the middle of a neighboorhood not near anything apart from downtown

So much character it is ridiculous. this hostel is unlike anything else, it was founded in the early 80s by a guy obsessed with the country legend Gram Parsons (hence the name) but is now run by his brother. There are old instruments everywhere, a treehouse, all rooms are themed (railroad, country music, adventure, crows nest, etc etc.) - located in a residential area, there isn't a lot nearby, although the areas of tampa where we were told the night life is at is a (long) walk distance or a sho

We really appreciated our visit to Gram's place. The owner Bruce is friendly and very helpfull. The hostel itself looks amazing, expended step by step. Nicely situated in between trees and plants with a lot of cozy rooms and meeting areas.

Gram's Place rates as one of the best hostels available. Everything was clean, the linens were fresh, and the kitchen afforded a real opportunity to cook. The staff was fantastic and did everything to make my stay special. I would highly recommend Gram's Place to anyone who plans to spend time in Tampa.

It was great! The rooms are themed, we stayed in the country music room. If you love music, this is the place to be. They play music, not too loud though, and have so much music artifacts. We loved it and will be going back.
