The place was not clean at all. The room is big but smelly (4th floor). Every night on the second floor it smelled like pepperoni pizza no matter the hour. The staff is kind and nice. Recomended if you want to be on a single room not too expensive and if you don´t care abut the room. The neighbourhood is very nice and is next to Williamsbourg that is ausom. We came to hostel in the midle of the night because of the fight was late... We where so tired and the romms was to hot, so we couldn`t hardly sleep. It was also havey to carry the suitcase up to the third floor... Gunhild, from Sweden ~ 1st May 2009

Pros: Been here a couple times now and no major complaints. Rooms and bathrooms were pretty clean. It's in a Polish neighborhood in Brooklyn, so there are a lot of nice things in the neighborhood (Polish restaurants, some good beer, etc). Also close to a couple subway stops. Cons: The major issue with the place is that the staff is not very responsive. They're polite and someone is always there, but if you ask for a repair it may never happen. This place is great, Grenpoint is fantastic and the free breakfast is great. Traveled by myself from Australia and felt very safe in the area as it is slao accross the road from the police just in case! But that's not even neccessary. I totally reccomend it. Though be ware of Hostels.com, i actually found this service a bit crap, i had to change my booking and hostels.com never responded to any of my emails, and were useless.
