Simple, clean place pretty close to the train station and major bus and subway stops. The private room is just the tatami mats with thin futons, so it's nothing special, but it's quite cheap for the area. Derek, from USA ~ 29th Oct 2009

When I read the previous review I was a little worried about the location but it is easy to get to. The staff was very kind and helpful. It was a perfect spot for me to lay my head at night while I explored Kyoto during the day. There isn't a lot of community activity in the shared space if you're looking for that but it is a great affordable place to stay during your visit to Kyoto. Jocelyn, from USA ~ 5th Jul 2009

As said before, taxi drivers don't know where it is. If you feel confident, take the #73 bus toward Gojou （五条） and get off after I think 3 stops, near a place called Fresco. It's pretty close to there. Very close to bus stops, but be warned the buses are often very late. Also be warned they only have hot water from 8-10 a.m. or 9-11 p.m. We stayed in a twin private (yet still cheap - 2750/night/person) and it was big, clean, and lockable Breana, from USA ~ 25th Mar 2009

I love the stay in the guesthouse. It is easy to find. No need to take a cab or taxi. Owner, his wife and staff are warm and friendly. Internet and map provided are useful. My wife & baby (11 months) sleep well in the comfortable room. Kitchen is good with every electric apparatus and utensils I needed. I can do my Chinese soup there for my family and people crossed over. 24hr restaurants, convenient stores and supermarkets are close by.
