Very nice place, the staff were super helpful and welcoming, easy access to bus/subway (it was a little difficult to get taxi drivers to understand where it was though, better bring a map). Would definetly stay again. Signe Marie, from Norway ~ 24th Nov 2011

The place was very nice, and the staff was absolutely excellent. If you don't speak Japanese, the staff there speaks pretty decent English, and are completely willing to help you out. If you need directions on how to get somewhere, they will key you in to cheap and easy ways to get to famous attractions. They were lacking a locker for storing your things, but you can keep your bags in their office area while you are out, so long as you come back before they attendants head out for the night. It is a small and nice hostel. A locker is missing and there are a bit too many rules. But the staff is very nice. Oliver, from Switzerland ~ 2nd Aug 2011

This is the place for travelers who want to try living in a standard japanese household: tatami on the floors, futon beds and traditional japanese showe. I found it excellent and the owners are the sweetest people ever! The location is great hidden from the bigger streets, but in walking distance from where it all . We quite enjoyed our stay at Yahata! The staff were all very friendly, accommodating, and informative about places to go and things to do. They were genuinely interested in our welfare and made us feel more like guests staying at their house rather than just customers. We felt very safe there, and the room was clean and comfortable. The free drink service was also very welcome in the cold weather. We would definitely stay there again! Janine, from Trinidad And Tobago ~ 22nd Mar 2011
