- “ Excellent value for money and the guesthouse owner is unbelievably nice. ”

- “ The owner is very nice but this does not compensate for the lack of comfort of this hostel. You sleep on a very thin mattress on the floor, which is quite uncomfortable. Moreover, there is a fuel heater in the room that shuts down after 3 hours. So you need to wake up in the middle of the night to put it on again. The shower and bathroom are outside and this clearly not convenient when it is cold. I stayed in an other hostel in Kyoto for a cheaper price and a much better comfort. ”

- “ The staff was super-helpful, providing us with loads of information, giving us three maps (one of which was a bus map), advising us cheap places to eat nearby (we went and they were really delicious) and even taking us to the station with the car when we left early in the morning. The room was nice, a bit small, but had a fan, air conditioning and the futon was prepared for us by the staff. ”

- “ Guesthouse Bon was very cute and traditional Japanese style. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was nice and heated. The shower and toilet are kind of outdoors which can be very cold in Winter but a really cool place to stay in Kyoto. Close to some temples, nice restaurants and really nice little streets with shops. ”
