The people is very kind in Japan, the only problem you might find is to arrive after 9:00 PM which was my case, hopefully the girl left a note, and the other guests help me, JAPANESE PEOPLE is outstanding, and help you a lot, so far I have had a nice journey.

If your looking for a tradiotional Japanese house, then this is ideal for you. It is also close to a number of shrines and temples even if you walk.

I have been living in Japan for two years, I wanted to take a visiting friend to a traditional style house without the high expense of a posh ryokan, this place was perfect. The little garden inside is so lovely and tranquil. I highly recommend this hostel!! Also, breakfast was yummy!

This place was fantastic. A little hard to find (it's down an alley) but the Kyoto Handicrafts Center is on the same block and has a tourist counter if you get lost. It's a few minutes walk from many major tourist spots and only two blocks from the train. I wanted to stay longer but they were all booked up! WAH!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a cold, and they gave me some medication which helped alot. Only negative comment was that the western toilet was a little too small. Other then that, I really enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to come back again.
