Alright if you are just there for a stopover. Would not recommend for a long stay. There is good street food nearby.
Good locatio right next to the station, although a bit of a walk from Guilin's main sights, but useful for the bus to Yangshuo. Helpful friendly staff, but squat toilets and smal musty rooms.

The food is terrible and the staff are friendly, but not all that helpful. There is a charge for the internet - when you can get on it! And there is no toilet paper in the [squat only] toilets. The only plus side to this hotel is that it's near the railway station. Other than that, avoid at all costs - I don't know how come they have such a high rating...

My third stay this trip. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff really enriched my visit to Guilin. I also stayed at the new Yangshou Flowers, though I can't reveiw it as I didn't book online; but it's even better. Really comfortable room, set slightly away from the main road and tourist area for a quieter stay, good view of the mountain from my room. Good value. They're both very good places to stay in.

The location is very convenient, but this is the only good thing. * The room looked very old. Large sheets of brown paper covered a majority of the walls. We didn't want to check what was behind it. * The comforter was dirty - its seemingly original white color had turned gray. * There was no hot water. When we asked, they went to turn on the gas, only to find that the gas tank was empty and no replacement tank was possible until the following morning. So no hot water that night. * Most of staffs were helpful. But the one who can speak fluent English was not very friendly. She seemed perpetually busy and was not receptive to answering questions. * Even with the heater running all night, the room was still freezing. * The bathroom is tiny with a squat toilet (which the shower water drains into). * They do not provide soap or any of the usual complimentary items - if you want these, you have to purchase them from the front desk. * Internet use is charged at 1RMB for 10 minutes or 5RMB per hour. (Go to an internet bar - then it's only 1 rmb per hour! Most other hostels we stayed at during our trip provided free internet access.) We had originally reserved for two nights stay but ended up staying only one night. We moved to a nearby inn - the cost was similar (barely higher) but the rooms, amenities, etc were much better.

Very good place, clean and convenient
Easy to catch bus/taxi/train, a bit far but still walking distance from city center. Even though to area around looks a bit creepy it seemed alright for safety. Very helpful staff, good food and drink shops around. However the airconditioned it's really bad.
