Hostel is in the middle of nowhere which could be a huge plus for some. i thought it was quite remote. no wifi which is difficult if you're trying to stay connected to outside world. the hostel itself is beautiful old house with amazing view of the coast. located very close to many walking trails. Very homey feel. relaxed conversation over dinner with many of the guests. the staff is outstanding. very clean and comfortable common areas. rooms are great size to get some sleep. overall A+ hostel.

No booze, but the location and facilities are great!!!!
Very laid back, beautiful location.
Winter time seems to be off season for the redwoods. There is not much in the surrounding area if you are used to amenities. Bring some food from the market, and cook up your dinner. Sit beside the fire and read a good book. Rest up for lots of hiking.
