It was nice to stay at a hostel that had obviously been designed to be a one from the first. Everything was well organized and clean. Very large and clean kitchen. A few negative points: internet was expensive ($2 for 20 minutes - and you needed a toonie), and we were not given towels at our arrival, we had to go and ask for them at the desk. The location is dangerous. The area is filled with severe crack addicts who are aggressive and there were police involved and an arrest on the day I stayed. At night they linger in the park outside yelling all through the night making sleep difficult. While handy to the city it is in a bad part of town and very noisy with construction and trains but most serious - especially for vulnerable travellers is the crack addict problem in the area. This hostel is just average all around. The location was within walking distance to just about everything fun, but was a little sketchy because there were a lot of homeless people and druggies outside, so it made doing things at night a little creepy. The staff was ok, but not super outgoing or friendly, and everyone there just read or ate all day. There is no bar (or even drinking) so nightlife is basically non-existant.
