The Asian couple running the building were very nice. It didn't seem very busy, I was the only one in the eight person room for two of the three nights I stayed, which was nice. It was very cold at night and there was only freezing cold water in the sinks so I didn't even attempt the shower, which didn't look good. Felt pretty safe with the front door locks, room locks, locker in the hallway for my belongings, although again I was the only one there most of the time. Overall I enjoyed my stay, and would book again just based on the price alone if I only needed someplace for a short stay.

This hostel is in dire need of reburbishment, especially the bathrooms. They are terrible. The little Asian lady there is the sweetest thing though.

not really much around the hostels - you must take the bus to get downtown. Hartford really isn't a travel destination to spend more than 1 day in but the staff was very friendly and helpful! must visit the park while there - they are beautiful. Rooms were clean but there isn't much else offered at the hostels but the staff does try and point you in the right direction for downtown activities!!! If in Hartford, it is a good place to stay for a few days!!

We actually never had the chance to find out about the establishment because we did not end up staying here. Simply because the staff was incredibly unhelpful with navigation and incredibly rude. So, my only true rating is on the staff but since I don't know the rest I will assume the whole place had the same merit as the gentleman I spoke with. So, we stayed at a nice enough Motel 6 just out of Hartford. However, I have made numerous bookings on Hostels.com and they have worked out magnificently before.

The hostel was comfortable enough, except it was very cold. The thermometer in the upstairs hallway read 58 degrees when it was already pretty cold outside.

The actual bed was clean and comfortable but the hostel as a whole is very grubby and needs to be totally refurbished.
