Though quite a way from downtown, the hostel is near some good eateries and other shops. Graham, from Australia ~ 29th Oct 2009

Location is reasonably close to downtown and has some amenities close by. The hostel itself, however, is pretty poor - it's old and desperately in need of a facelift. The beds creak badly, the bathroom doesn't feel at all clean, the shower didn't work properly and there was generally a funny smell Iain, from Northern Ireland ~ 20th Oct 2009

A nice old building. Initially, the shower wasn't working, but the staff with the aid of a screw driver, was able to open the warm water line. James, from USA ~ 30th Jul 2009

Owners David and Grace very gracious and kind. Furnishings, walls and curtains in need of dusting, carpets in need of vacuuming. Clean linens provided. Lovely old building, centrally located. Rooms are spacious. Within walking distance to Mark Twain House and Harriet Beecher Stowe House, CVS, Pizza shops, Dunkin' Donuts, Mo's (great diner), Burger King, Laundromat, buses. Bus is 7 minutes ride from downtown Hartford. Very easily accessible. Great neighborhood. Jeanette, from USA ~ 31st May 2009
