We were there only one evening and unable to judge the "fun" category, but we enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Great location and friendly staff are the ups! Unless you are a child or a senior citizen, stay somewhere else. The 1am curfew and complete ban on alcohol is such a drag since Monterey is a $$$ kind of town. It would be nice to have a few drinks before going out, so you don't have to spend $5/beer out at the bars.

This hostel was a delight, practically a hotel! It would also be very family friendly! Highly recommended!

This place has it all. GREAT LOCATION just two blocks from cannery row. extremely knowledgeable staff that was eager to help out. Very comfortable living area and kitchen space. Every inch of the hostel was immaculate and well maintained. free parking and plenty of locker storage (bring a lock). Only nitpicking i can do is the mattresses were a bit hard but not unbearable by any means. One of the best hostels i've ever stayed in and one of the most spectacular areas in the country. the drive out to big sur is breathtaking.

Really nice common seating area. Located really close to tourist attractions. They use tokens for the shower, so if you take really long showers everyday, you'll be out of luck.

Very nice hostel, with a great common area - comfortable like a living room and there is even a guitar and a piano for those who are into music. A perfect stop if you're travelling along Highway 1.
