- “ We loved the location! There were good local restaurants nearby. We picked up collectivos a block away that took us downtown in 10 minutes. The outside patio area is great for relaxing. A laundry is about 1 block away with same day service. ”

- “ A great place to chill out with a relaxed and welcoming vibe. It's great to have a kitchen to prepare meals and Marcus gets the BBQ going a few times per week. It's out of the centre so nice and low key. If you want to get to the centre, there are complimentary bikes (a great way to avoid transportation hassles!), the collectivo or a taxi for about 35 pesos. It's a great home away from home. :) ”

- “ Although away from the strip, the hostel was in a much quieter area of the town. The beach is only a bus ride away (few minutes at that) or a 30 minute walk (the hostel has bikes on site free for people staying there). There is a nice, wide open courtyard in the middle and the staff is very friendly. Also, if you are travelling on a budget, meal options in this part of the town are a lot cheaper and represent a more genuine version of the Mexican cuisine when compared to the 5th avenue strip. ”

- “ My husband and I stayed at Hacienda del Sol for 4 nights. It's location is about a 40 minute walk from the busy downtown area, but that means that restaurants are designed to attract locals, not tourists - the prices and food of neighborhood restaurants was fantastic. The owner of the hostel went out of her way to create community, and we walked away with some new friends. ”
