Very good hostel! I like the location, the staff were very helpful, and even the private rooms were a great value. There was a leak under our floor right by the bathroom, but otherwise the facilities were great. Recommending it to friends!

I stayed in a dorm female room, and had a nice time to chat chit and make friends with other travelers. Location is right in the ancient walking street, so easy to find the food and shopping. The hostel is super clean, many cleaners work for it and the staff is very helpful. I had a pleasant time here. Highly recommended.

Our group of 12 people stayed here for one night, we arrived very late in night and there was a man who didn't speak English, only in the morning we met wonderful guy on receptionwho was one of the best impressions from Hangzhou. The only minus was - it was really cold in room. And coffee next door - exellent!

The wifi did not work for me on the first two days. Expect no toiletries in the washroom, and no housekeeping as well (other than the clearing of the rubbish bins). Staff, while looking friendly and helpful, persuaded me to take up a day tour that wasted my time by forcing me to visit some tea and silk factories as well, and dumped me in some obscure location and expect me to make my way back. Location-wise, this is nowhere near the famed lake, expect easily a 20min walk.

The hostel is located in the tourist area, not far from Xihu, about 15 minutes on foot. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. Marija, from Latvia ~ 8th Oct 2011

We got the loft room, which had treacherous stairs to climb up and down from. I would not recommend booking this room if you are planning on getting drunk and may need to vomit later. My wife got food poisoning (not hostel food) and had to run down the stairs to reach the toilet and almost fell down them. Aside from that, this is a great hostel. The location is amazing and the staff is very helpful. They bought us train tickets to our next destination for yuan each well worth the time it saves

My son and I stayed at this hostel and it is one of the best in the string of hostels we have chosen. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the location is great, the rooms and bathrooms are very clean and there is a hip funky feel to the place. We really enjoyed it and will be back next year when I bring a group of students to China.
