Very friendly staff, they speak english very well, great location 5 minutes walk from subway and in walking distance from the Forbidden city. The bathroom facilities are poor, although they clean every day, the bad smell doesn't go away and it's very small. The beds are hard, but most of the beds in China are... For the price I wasn't really expecting much more, so it met my expectations. Staff were really friendly! I preferred staying at Sanlitun Youth Hostel, the sister hostel, because of the bathroom system. One tiny bathroom for five people was a bit inconvenient, plus the water pressure was weak. Great location, near the subway but if you like to ride a bike it's even better. Most sites are within riding distance. I stayed in the 4-bed dorm ensuite. Nice, clean room and bathroom, gets cleaned every day. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Their English is pretty good as well. They have a great bar as well with draft beer! :-). Nice and helpful staff. Not the nicest area but it felt safe and you are just a 5 minute walk to the subway and a supermarket. The rooms were pretty clean and our own private bathroom. A/C worked great. We had a few little bugs but it was the basement floor so that is to be expected. Some trouble with the toilet but it was fixed.
