  • I paid for 1 week in a private room at $90/night. At the car rental desk the clerk recommended buying insurance if I was staying in "that neighborhood." The neighborhood was rundown. The hostel felt neglected. I expected plain; but not faded curtains, light fixtures with bulbs missing, worn contact paper decor, busted cane chairs, etc. Some of this just needed TLC. It felt creepy, and I only stayed 2 nights. I'm still waiting to hear about a partial refund, promised if the room could be re-let.

  • It is fine; obviously not a hotel room but a decent price (for 2 people) in a centralized location of Maui. If you are solo you pay for 2 beds (in a 2 bed room) but still cheaper than the hotels. Do make an appointment to check in because there is no full time on-site staff.
