I brought my lock and I locked it for 2 days and I left there today. I went basement to get uritymy lock. What! Someone broke the lock without any notice and there's not much security for each room. Cons: The place doesn't look very clean, it's about a twenty minute metro ride to downtown DC, and the few bathrooms don't accomodate so many people. Oh, and the showerheads are so ineffective that you wonder if you really just got clean. Pros: atmosphere is fun, it's way cheaper than anything closer to DC, and having a kitchen is really convenient! Stefanie, from USA ~ 25th Jun 2009

Noting but the best! It might not be the most fancy hostel in the world, but the staff is very friendly and helpfull and they offer different cool stuff (we had an Memorial Day bbq). There's pooltable, fussball, cable tv and wi fi. And some nice decks and a cool garden! No problem getting to central WDC. Metro across the street - about 1,5$ All in all: GO THERE! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and downstairs area felt like a home with TV and living room. Would have preferred higher ratio of bathrooms to people because the wait in the morning was too long. The location is a little way out on the metro, but metro is very close to hostel. The immediate area felt quite unsafe, and I wouldn't walk around after dark. The hostel is quirky and has bags of character. It's easy to meet people. However, it seriously needs more bathrooms and a couple of the dorms need to be 4-bed rather than 6, as it was a squeeze.Maybe could be cleaner too. We had a truley revolting room-mate, but I guess it's not the hostel's fault. All in all, we had a cool time EMILY, from England ~ 10th May 2009
