This family run establishment is a great place to stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating and very helpful in booking side trips. The lack of elevator can be a challenge at the end of a long day. Emily, from Canada ~ 23rd Sep 2009

We were taking the 2300hrs bus from Da Lat and arrived HCM around 0600hrs. Our plan was to go to the Cu Chi tunnel after we arrived HCM but there was no way we can book the day tour in Da Lat. When I called Hoang Phong Hostel at 2000hrs to ask them if they are able to help us purchase the Cu Chi Tunnel tickets, they agreed without any hestitation and told us to knock on their door when we reach HCM so we are able to wash up before we go for the trip. Thank you so much, Hoang Phong. Lew, from Singapore ~ 23rd Aug 2009

This was the first hotel we stayed in on our trip to Vietnam and it was one of our favourites. It is a family run hotel and this adds to the friendly atmosphere of the place. The staff are all extemely friendly and i would definately recommend this place to fellow travellers. The rooms were cleaned daily and breakfast is offered each morning. The hotel is down a side alley a two minute walk away from the main backpacker area. A lovely place to stay :) Sarah, from England ~ 26th Aug 2009

this hotel is very charming and so well located (since it is in a little alley, it's very calm and quiet although located 30seconds away from pham ngu lao street). The staff is very nice as well as helpful and efficient. Moreover, price is very cheap! I highly recommend it! Ronan, from France ~ 14th Apr 2009

Perfect location on backpacker district. Big clean rooms with comfortable bed, nice shower, ultra clean, tv and fridge. More like a hotel then a hostel. Great place to come back to kick back a few gears after busy day in Saigon traffic. The guy at reception is awesome and mega helpful. Hatice, from England ~ 14th Feb 2009

I don’t like breakfast here cos so many bugs and flies in the eating room, that’s why we had to bring our breakfast to eat in our room. Lots of mosquitoes even in the evening or night time. It was not much fun. Read Owner Comments Lin, from Hungary ~ 17th Feb 2009
