Bit of trek to hostel. But worth it. Nice place overall. Breakfast was bit average. Food was left in the open for bugs and flies. One free internet pc. Cabins were cosy and nice.
we stayed in a little two bed cabin which was all clean and nice. the location in the middle of the forest is really special in a positive way! the breakfast is great! a nice place to stay at!

Staff very unfriendly and seem to be more obsessed with bodybuilding than looking after their guests! Nice breakfast. Bit of an uphill walk from centre but not too bad. Cold showers. Bring your insect repellant!

If you're looking for a beautiful jungle style lodge; Holandes is perfect. If your looking for centre of town party hostel; you'd better go somewhere else and leave it for the visitors who prefer tranquillity, beauty, and character. It's a little bit of a walk but well worth it as it takes you right to the edge of the jungle. It's clean, the staff are friendly, and it has a real family atmosphere. There are hammocks on the veranda, an open air seating/breakfast area, and I found all the other guests to be respectful and genuine open people. I cannot recommend it enough.

The guy at the front desk was very rude when we arrived, and was reluctant to speak English even though he is pretty fluent. There is no lock on the door to the room and the hammocks outside smell like they have never been washed. We tried to book in for two extra nights but he kept telling us to come back later, finally on the day we were due to check out he said we could stay. This hostel could do with some activities organised at night to liven things up!

the staff (except flavio) are incompetant, uninformed, unhelpful, and overcharged us based on their own incompetance. the cabins are very nice and it has a relaxed atmosphere, but we left angry.
things were clean, but hidden in the bed and bedding were dirty little bed bugs, i wasn the only one either, otherwise it was ok....although no outside alcohol was allowed and the bar was very very limited..no beer for example! Staff were ok but dont expect any english speaking...i don like to leave bad review but anyway there it is..

Breakfast the best yet in 9 months. Free water filter water not from the tap and internet. Brown homemade bread with lots of cake and puddings. No plastic croquery or beakers! The quartos are chalets secluded and beautifully kept and cleaned. Huge showers! Water could be hotter. Each with a fridge. I loved the place and the staff unintrusive. I will be back . Highly recommended. Lovely lovely lovely gardens. Not much on at night but I did not mind the quiet as I slept 16 hours fantastic.

The breakfast was amazing!! Very relaxing place not really a place to have loads of fun!! The hostel is located a bit away from the ferry but someone came to collect us so it was all good. Pity they weren`t as helpful when you were leaving!!
