Very nice house keepers: a lady from Philippine and her two sons. I am traveling from the US to mainland China via Hong Kong with 4 luggages! The very warm-hearted lady helped me to store my luggages, gave me plug transfers, ask two of her handsome sons to help me transport with luggages of altogether over 150 lbs up and down the elevators and to the cab station. The room is brand-new, although very small, which is highly typical in Hong Kong. The location of Chung King Mansion is perfect, just 100 feet away from metro station, several hundreds feet away from the bay front and the Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island. Also I walked down to the ferry from Kowloon to Macau, very convenient place. As a Chinese student in America coming back to the motherland, I've had a great time in Hong Kong! As a western friend, you will also find it a great place to go. I've told my Chinese friends to stop by Hong Kong if they could when come back to China, and Hollywood/Four Seasons Hostels may be their best choices if they could not find a friend to offer lodging.

Located in Chung King Mansion, Nathan Rd., Kowloon, it is the best place I have stayed in the Chung King Mansion building. That said I am not a fan of the location, too many hawkers trying to sell watches, rooms & messages. But it is a good place to book to crash on a first night in HK before looking for better.

it's a much better hostel than the other ones at chunking mansion, but that's not saying much. anytime you stay at the chungking, don't be surprised if you have to spend 3 hours being moved around from hostel to hostel, because sometimes they don't have a room for you and you get moved around like musical chairs.

The staff is very difficult to reach particularly in the mornings. I wish they had 24-hour reception in case I need something or return keys.

Both my friend and i enjoyed our stay at the hostel very much. Pros: 1) Clean: The place had been recently renovated with clean beddings and toilets. Daily cleaning of rooms and changing of towels is also provided. 2) Good location: The hostel is located along Nathan Rd and is just 3 min away from the TST MTR subway. It is also approx. 5 min away from the Victoria Harbour. It's also fun to explore the different lanes perpendicular to Nathan Rd e.g. Granville Rd and Kimberley St (shopping) 3) Basic neccessities inclusive: TV, towels, blanket, handwash, hangers, multiple plug, aircon, fan, personal toilet inclusive. 4) Comfortable room: The room though small has very comfortable beds and is comfortably spaced. 5) Reasonably priced: We managed to book each bed at S$26 (approx. HKD130) for a twin bed room. Cons: 1) Lift waiting: There is only 1 lift which can only carry 7 pax servicing 16 floors (even floors only). At peak hours, waiting for the lift is very time-consuming approx. 10min. However, on the ground floor there's security surveil. TV capturing the lift situation, hence it is quite secured. 2) Small toilet: Given land scarcity in HK, hence the toilet is really small, approx. 1.5m x 1m. Besides the toilet mirror is also positioned too high for asian heights of approx. 1.6m.
