Considering how much they charge I just recommend this place if you don't have another option in Kyoto. It was my case. The city was packed (New Year's Party) and I couldn't book a place in advance to stay there. They are full of rules and charge as good hotel.

Very well placed, close to the Kyoto Station. Hotel is not so fun, but you find there a clean japan style rooms with tatami ( tou sleep exetremely well on that!) The only obstacle is to be back at 11:00 pm at the hotel , while the night life in Kyoto is flourishing.

Unfortunately, I could not use the common bath at morning, which I never expected. Even if there is good air conditioning system in the room, I don't feel well because I can't take a bath at morning during the mid summer season. I requested the staff to allow to have a shower only, but they refused.

The cost is way too high, even for Kyoto, for what you get. The staff is rude and very non-understanding. There are cochroaches, if I had known that I would have slept in my car.
