In the heart of Thamel, it's this hostels owner that makes this hostel. Extremely nice and helpful. Not much of a 'backpaker's' hostel though, more of an economic hotel Armin, from Canada ~ 25th Oct 2009

This is an excellent place to stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu. Both the manager and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is dead center of the major tourist area, and pretty central for seeing some of the major temples and museums in the city. You get a whole lot more than you would expect from a very inexpensive youth hostel. Eric, from USA ~ 14th Jul 2009

I might be getting old, but a hostel that has a nightclub next door, pumping out thumpingly loud music til 2am is not my idea of a good time. The receptionist told me the music would stop at 11 when i went to ask him at 10, and this was a complete lie. Apparently it's only friday and sat that it's on this late, so as we arrived on a friday, knackered, we were unlucky. If you want a quiet night, stay out of central Thamel. Otherwise, hostel was fine - good room, nice terrace, helpful owner. elise, from England ~ 28th Apr 2009

Our room was a pleasant surprise considering the amount we were paying per night, complete with a TV and en suite bathroom and hot water every time we tried to use it. Staff were very helpful and sent someone to pick us up from the airport even though we didn't ask (we weren't coming from the airport as it happened, but the gesture was very kind!).
