- “ Nice and helpful reception, basically polite and friendly people living there. Clean and tidy. But the floor is noisy and I find it difficult to keep quiet when i walk around. If you have heavy luggage, it's time for you to practice to take it up stairs xp ”

- “ Its a nice place, you can take the free tram just 2 min away to drive arround Melbourne City. Big Parks and Musems are not to far away. Very clean, rooms got cleaned once a day, good and many showers. Good Kitchenarea, but the freezers and the food storage area needs to be bigger since its hard to find free space. Free Tea and Coffee, and a place to sit outside and eat or talk. Good place, that i would recommend to a friend ”

- “ Had a great stay here whilst over in Melbourne for the tennis! Staff were very friendly and helpful, the mattress and linen were the best i've slept in whilst here backpacking in Oz. Good kitchen facilities, 'homely' atmosphere and late night hostel rules seem to be well respected, had no noisy, drunk people waking me up...Only negative is location but even with that I felt safe to walk back to the hostel from the city every night so don't let that stop you. Trams go near to the hostel anyway. ”

- “ This place is huge, but beautiful. No free brekkie or internet, two things I believe any GOOD hostel should have. It's not in the CBD, but located right next to the trams, so you can catch the free city trolly. ”

- “ The hostel is great, really nice bathroom, very clean and nice staff. The only problem is the noise, people making noise until 2 am, so hard to sleep. You can t leave the windows opened because of the noise. Especially on weekends. And people smoking too much weeds in the garden. If there is more than one smoking weeds, the smell is going until the kitchen as they leave the door opened , I couldn t cook that day because of this smell. Rooms next to the stairs are nightmare because of the noise. ”

- “ Front desk staff were very helpful, able to give advice on public transportation in the city. Bathrooms are very nice, as there are 3 private singles with toilet, shower, and sink, as well as a shared shower and toilet on each hall. I wish there were more common areas with a bit more furniture. Also fridge and kitchen space is tight, but this may be because hostel was booked full (you had to fight for fridge and shelf space for food). But overall, a nice hostel stay and would stay again. ”

- “ It's my third time in Melbourne and my first time staying in Home@TheMansion. It is the best hostel I have stayed in Melbourne:) Lovely staff, enough bathrooms and showers, security lockers, comfy beds, good kitchen, great location and the dorms are good size too. Absolutely loved it! ”

- “ Front desk staff were terrific. A little maintenance by fixing the blind in the bedroom would be good. And the creaky floor, whilst adding to the character meant that any early leavers (which happened at 2am) woke the whole joint. Having the the beer we'd left in the room nicked was uncool. Location was excellent ”
