This hostel is pretty well located, rooms are clean and the beds are really hard, the rooms are somewhat noisy from the streets on both sides. The staff is great, really friendly and helpful. All in all, if you need a cheap place to stay that is in a good location to the main square I would recommend this hostel.

About Taiwan Hotel The worst hotel I have ever stayed. It was an absolute nightmare. The inn owner was not honest. He charged me HK$150 more for 2 nights. The room was small and dim. The so-called double-bed was only 120cm. The room was fully of bad smell from the restaurants downstairs. I got the claustrophobia during those two nights. Due to the lousy building construction (my room was on 11 floor, E block), in case any fire happens in the night, nobody in this hotel can survive.

It took 30 min. before we got our room. Then we got a room with shower though we didn't have paid for that and after another few minutes mr Lee came and said that we had to pay extra for that. We managed to haggle that price down. The first time I stayed here he couldn't find my reservation at all, 2nd time they seemed to be out of the room type we had booked. I think that Mr Lee could have better planning!
A must for every backpacker, very central and safe because of their equipment.
