I LOST MY MONEY HERE! Booked 3 days online using Credit card. Went to the hotel, they gave us a room totally different from photos, so small we (2) could not open our bags on the floor. We decided not to take the room. (No other options were offered to us). 2 days later they charged on my credit 3 days stay! (we did not spend a single night there!). We went back for details. They told us they would give us 2 nights money back. After 3 weeks No money back still. BE AWARE! sergio, from Italy ~ 7th May 2012

I got very shock I saw my room, It was very small room. I couldn't get move. My room 724 If you prefer this hostel try not to get in that room. Hot water not worked well. Aircon also not cool I only felt fan swingging. It was high humid I even have to open my door to get some fresh air. Since it's peak season, with very high price and that room condition I have no other option. I just try to got hotel in late night and got sleep, wake up in early morning to get off from that roo Mayria, from Indonesia ~ 3rd May 2012

Dorm was small and old, but clean. It is a good hostel by Hong Kong standards. Ana Beatriz, from Brazil ~ 28th Apr 2012

We spent here 4 nights, and we were really surprised, because we expected worse quality for money we paid. Room was small, but clean with comfortable beds. Very good option for the lowest price in center of Kowloon. Jiri, from Czech Republic ~ 22nd Dec 2011

The cheapest available guesthouse in HK I reckon. Great location about 200m from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station. But other than that, it's a tiny place in a very dodgy building. Pretty much getting what you pay for. Amy, from Singapore ~ 2nd Nov 2011

Booked Hong Kong City Guest House and were brought to Emperor Hostel two floors higher, apparently the same owner. Left the hostel after half of the booked nights. After a room change (smell, broken a/c, insects) the second room was also not clean and full of insects (we suppose bed bugs) Unfortunately we didn't get back the prepaid amount of money for the cancelled nights.Wouldn't reccomend this hostel. The room smelled strongly of urine and sweat. The aircon was very loud. The toilet/shower wasn't that clean. The staff didin't want to recognize the urine smell neither and were smoking in the corridore. We do not recommend this one. Chungking mansions is a ghetto all in all, but it is situated very nicely in Hong Kong. So if you have no standards or like misery and looking for a base to explore the City, this is for you. People at hostel were very nice, very helpful when I lost my room key. Were able to let me back into my room with minimal trouble. Would stay there again. Leah, from USA ~ 11th Oct 2011
