I loved Hostel Recoleta. It is a peaceful but fun place and has a great vibe.I had made friends within half an hour of arriving. The staff are really helpful with organising tours, laundry, taxis and airport transfers and travel advice. They have a nice lounge with tv and movies, fooseball and table tennis tables, as well as some nice little niches with chess sets.Breakfast is good, and don´t forget to try the bakery across the road.I will stay there again on my return to Cusco!Enjoy! Recoleta is a home away from home. They have internet access (via computer/WiFi), hot water, great breakfasts (e.g. pancakes, homemade hot chocolate), and a congenial and attentive staff. It's about a 15 minute walk east of the main plaza, but the distance just adds to its homey environment. The neighborhood is safe and offers a mercado, mini-tiendas, and economical restaurants. This is one of the best hostels we've stayed at in South America! Laura, from USA ~ 29th Dec 2011

The family-owned Hospedaje Turistico Recoleta is the best hostel I've stayed at in Peru. There are many staff, so there is always someone at the front desk, they make the beds every day, and keep the hostel spotless (no machismo mentality-this is not my work because I'm a man) here. They all speak some English, seem genuinely happy to be working there, and are honest. The manager is onsite for several hours a day, and like the staff, goes out of his way to help guests. Guests feel valued. Gaile, from USA ~ 2nd Jan 2012

Spent 2 nights before and 2 nights after our Inca Trail trek at this hostel and enjoyed our stay. The hostel is located just outside of the main touristy area which we enjoyed and was still within a short walk of the San Blas area. The staff were quite helpful with helping us to find our way around town. We had a number of problems with our flight to Cusco and arranging our Inca Trail trek and the hostel was very accomodating and flexible with our changing itinerary which was greatly appreciated Michael, from USA ~ 23rd Dec 2011

In general I think you can find much better value for money in Cuzco. We had booked 4 nights but wanted to change location after realizing the poor quality of the hostel - this did not seem to please the staff and we had to talk with the manager on the phone before the guy on duty would give us our bags back. Not a very nice experience. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. Kristian, from Brazil ~ 23rd Dec 2011

Excellent hostel. The owner, Javier, does everything to make you feel comfortable and welcome there. The price is excellent and the facilities are clean and good looking. Not all of the staff speak English, but they all strive to understand any scrap of Spanish you manage to speak. Arthur, from Brazil ~ 21st Dec 2011

The staff is great, very helpful with setting up reservations and local directions. Everyone is very friendly. The hostel is very nice with clean comfortable rooms and several good common areas. Great atmosphere. I only booked 3 nights to begin my stay in Cusco not knowing what to expect...after 2 days I tended up 8 more days. Chris, from USA ~ 7th Dec 2011

We had a good time staying in Hostal Turístico Recoleta. It is like a big family home. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful, and they speak good english. Mr. Javier, the manager, gave us good advice concerning the tours and how to avoid tourist traps. Breakfast is good and they make a much better coffee than in the streets. The hostel is located in a quiet neighborhood from which it is very easy to take a cab (just 3 soles) to the Plaza de Armas. Dorixa & Tomás Dorixa, from Venezuela ~ 16th Nov 2011

The staff was great- very hospitable and attentive to our needs and wants. There's a nice 10-15 minute walk to the plaza and great restaurants that aren't as expensive as near the plaza. Hot water for coca tea whenever you want it. The wireless was a bit spacey, but the lounge had a good connection and there are lots of movies to choose from! A very comfortable place that doesn't have a lot of noise if you want to sleep soundly. Javier even hailed a cheap taxi for us to the airport when we le Sarah, from USA ~ 4th Nov 2011
