Well, the best thing about this hostel is its location, only 5 min walk to Placa la Catalunya, which is perfect. Security very good. Otherwise, it's no fun at all, the whole breakfast consists of coffee or tea and three kinds of packed sweet stuff from some store next door, I guess. Breakfast is horrible. And it takes place basically in the middle of all the rooms, in the sort of hall where everybody has to pass through. Cute Room, very nostalgic for an American Traveler looking for a traditional hotel room from years ago. No TV, but a window, and a fan that worked beautifully, considering the heat during July. secure rooms, and great location. we would stay there again. brian, from USA ~ 18th Aug 2009

The room was beautiful, and we had a lovely balcony overlooking busy Barcelona. If you are looking for somewhere right in the central part of the city, Hostal Central is a great place. Not much for socializing, but the ancient elevator makes up for it. Sarah, from USA ~ 16th Jul 2009
