Not quite sure about it being in the top 5 hippest hostels in the world, but good enough! Large double room, but beds were awful & miles from the bathrooms.

The staff were very friendly and flexible, and really promoted a welcoming and fun environment. My one problem was that I requested a 8 person female dorm, and ended up in a mixed dorm. Not a huge deal, but it wasn't what I asked for. Besides that it was a great place!

This was definately a great hostel...the staff is really friendly and helpful with advice on how to get around the city. The barbecues and Pisco sours nights are very conducive for travellers to get to know each other. The staff really went above and beyond.

Hostal Forestal is one of the best hostels we have stayed at in the world. the lads that run the place are so helpful and really make you feel welcome. the free drinks nights are such good fun, pisco sours get you wasted! the staff work really hard to help everyone enjoy their time in santiago and it really makes a difference. thanks guys we had an amazing time, we were really sad to leave.

Those that complain about the toilet, how dark the rooms are and etc. Get a life! YOu serious you pay for room or dorm that is close to nothing.. if you want place that is five star the crown hotel is a block away so head there! this place was awsume!!! THE STAFF (pato,vanessa, victor, daniel if i´ve forgotten some of your names please excuse me) were the BEST they gave us so much assurence. This hostal is for those in their 20´s n great way to meet other ppl from all over. hell im heading their again before i head home.

seriously awesome place. pedro the guy at reception was cool and socially savvy. met some awesome people here. will be staying there again in 2 weeks time. highly recommended.
