Having no lift is not a problem as it helps you yo get fit!
Maybe the bedroom walls in room 9 could get a clean new covering of paint on them.
The water pressure in the shared bathroom can be a problem if someone else is having a shower elsewhere in the hostel, but this is probably because it is a very old house.
It felt more like being in someone's home...very cosy.
The family were most helpful when I had questions, especially maria who could speak good English.

Location was REALLY good! Not directly on Gran via- but this is a GOOD thing because it is way too noisy and touristy. However it is near ALL the tourist hot spots. There's lots of shopping right outside the door and great places to eat just a block away on Libertad.
Staff are super friendly, we got fresh sheets and towels everyday and our room and ensuite were cleaned every day as well.
highly recommend it!

Good location.
But you need earplug. Actually, everywhere in Spain..

The only thing that was hard for us was that there wasn't any lifts. We had to carry our luggage up 5 flights of stairs. They were very helpful to us. Even traveling with a baby.

This was a great place from a location perspective. There are a few cafes and restaurant, bars, shops around and it is very close to museums and the main street. The family owning the hostal is best described as warm, friendly and a bit old-fashioned. They gave me a map a lot of tips and provided an excellent chance to practice Spanish. The only complaint I have is that the whole building including the hostal is a bit dark, but immaculate and very comfortable. I highly recommend the place!

A very nice place for our family - which we got taken to as it suited our buggy better. Really nice people, no English but we got by fine. Only pain was the difficulty in getting there from terminal 4 at the airport (internal flight). Had to take a taxi return.

This hostel is very safe. You need 3 keys: one for the building, one for the hostel and one for your room. The hostel is managed by a couple and their daughter, and they are all super friendly and helpful (and the only ones with access to your room). They helped me find everything I needed in town and even insisted on accompanying me to the hospital when I got sick. Definitely recommended for women traveling alone.

The hostel is one of the best I Have ever saw. Its location is brilliant and the whole family who work there is very nice. The rooms are quiet big and the bathrooms are very clean. Also they have television and you reecieve every day fresh towels. But the best thing is that it is really cheap.
