- Loud music played by the staff for most of the day until curfew ( rooms are soundboxes). - Grimmy rooms and even much grimmier common showers and kitchen. - Friendly staff, but not very up there (forgets to give change, do not mention the free breakfast,...). - Staff quarters up on the roof, not sound proof (even their all-night phone conversations can be heard very clearly in rooms). - Messy common areas (dirty cups of coffee and full ashtrays lying everywhere, etc...) vincent, from Canada ~ 10th Apr 2012

I stayed here 4 nights during Dia de los Muertos. Luz is a 3 min walk to the zocalo, and is very clean considering theof people checked in. Staff is fantastic. It can get noisy at night, but still not a complete party hostel. Buy a beer from staff and enjoy the sunset on the rooftop, if you can get the rooftop cabana, all the better! Dorms have lockers, main door is code operated. Desayuno is toast and coffee. The tours sold by the hostel are pricy for what you get. All in all a good choice:) Jo, from USA ~ 15th Nov 2011

For the price, location and security one has nothing to complain of. Though by no means the dirtiest hostel I've ever visited, the dorm rooms were not cleaned during my three day stay. There is large kitchen that is off-limits, which was rather odd. There is rooftop access, however, that provides an interesting view of the town below. They do charge for baggage storage. A few inconveniences, but worth the price Justine, from USA ~ 2nd Aug 2011
