We stayed for 4 days in the new apartments of Hostal Madrid with my boyfriend. The place is quite and in the center of Madrid. Staff knows a very little English. You have to go to the cafe which is very closed to the hostal. It is a typical one, but the coffee was great! After walking down to Mc Donalds, you will see it right across the street.

I had to be in Madrid last minute on a Saturday night and this was the only place I could find. It was alright, but expensive and the streets outside are really loud. The location is great though.

The place is in a shady part of town, but very close to the center. We ended up with a rooftop apartment which was very nice for a bachelor pad. It had a kitchen (with a smell), bathroom, family room, and master suite. However I will never stay there again... We received a phone call late at night from the owners saying they saw us bring guests up on the big brother cameras and that they couldn't stay. About 10 minutes later they came busting into the room yelling and screaming at us in Spanish, calling our female guests prostitutes and physically hitting them to get out! The next morning they made us check out 1 hour early with only 10 minutes notice.

The room I had was clean but the only window in the room opened to an internal shaft from which a bad smell emanated, the room smelled bad probably from the smell from the shaft. Therefore the window could not be opened creating a very stuffy atmosphere. The locating was great right next to the Piazza Sol ad walking distance from night life activity.
