This hostal is alright if you are a heavy sleeper but the noise levels were very high. Doors banging throughout the night and noise in the corridors. The single room was also very cramped and their idea of air conditioning was a fan!. When I went back to book an additional night (my flight home was changed) they charged me 80 euros for the Saturday night (45 euros for Fri night) and said the Hostelworld special price was no longer available (although it was still showing on your website!).

I had a great experience at Hostal San Lorenzo. You can't get a better location than that. Right at the Gran Via, close to everything. The staff was really helpful too! Would recommend it to anyone!

San Lorenzo is the best student hostel! Not only is it affordable but its clean and so nice. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Enrique at the front desk even made us late night ham and cheese grilled sandwiches, a real treat. The rooms are clean with nice balconies and marble floors. The bathrooms are great and very clean. This centrally located hostel is a must when in madrid.

We had a great stay there, the staff are very friendly and were very helpful at all times. Is a real gem of a hostal!

The hostel looks more like a hotel. Staff is very polite and rooms are simple, but well decorated. Highly recommended.

I was initially at the hotel for 2 nights on a friends booking. I spoke to the desk advising I was canceling my last night booked. One person advised yes and so I thought that was it, though later they advised I had to cancel via the website. After they told me i needed to cancel 48 hrs out. They were rude and were not listening to what I had to say. it seemed money was more important than customers. Thought location is great their attitude was crap.

This place is more like a hotel than a hostal. It's perfect! Spacious room with bath and shower, tv, safe, etc. Definitely exceeded our expectations. We got more than we paid. Highly recommended!!
