Hostel Amigo in Mexico City, Mexico

This is a great hostel - it can have a party vibe if you want it to be like that because of the main bar in the bottom room, but the rooms are far enough away that you don\'t hear anything going on downstairs if you want to go to sleep. They give you free breakfast and dinner, and the food is actually legit. If you speak a little Spanish and ask the cook nicely she will hook you up. Watch out for the mozzies, they will eat you alive. Also bring earplugs as can be very noisy. Breakfast is pretty good though. Tim, from England ~ 18th Oct 2009

Since Hostal Amigo was closed, I was transferred to Hostal Moneda.Since I didn't have a choice I was not very happy about them charging the original(Amigo) price, although the Moneda charges less. Nevertheless I really enjoyed my stay. Katharina, from Germany ~ 13th Jun 2009

Very near Zocalo. Due to no window inside the 6-beds room, sound rebound and smell can't be blown away. Just one power socket in a room! The distance between upper and lower beds is not big enough. It is easy to hit your head if you stay at lower bed. The portion of dinner is not enough but breakfast is OK. Bathroom is clean. SAU KUEN, from Hong Kong ~ 23rd Feb 2009
