  • You can hear everything to your room. There isn´t soap on the showers and they close the commun kitchen already at 10pm, which is early. And they don´t have natural water for breakfest, only tee or coffee. Good thing is that there are 3 commun computers with internet, although one of them didn´t work.

  • Cool spot near Zocalo. Too bad the bar closes at 11 pm.

  • Good points: Friendly staff, good social area and small bar is great to meet people. Bad points: The doors slam and the rooms are all loud, they have a pool table next to the rooms and no low noise policy late at night. the bathrooms were always out of toilet paper and dirty, and the showers had no shelves and anything to put your clothes or soaps. The tour to teotihuacan was way over priced and our tour guide got caught sneaking us in and had to go back and pay. Get the public bus

  • This hostel has a great deal of character and is pretty well maintained. It is in the heart of historical Mexico City and a short walk to a couple of must see's. General concensus was that the atmosphere was a bit lacking, however. Great place to stay for a tourist looking to see the sites, but not too lively.

  • I loved my stay at Hostal Amigo! I have stayed at a few hostels in the US, Europe and India, stay at Amigo is the best so far. The people who come in, the facilities and cleanliness they have is very very good! The staff is extremely friendly too. If I go back to DF, I am staying there without any doubt. Amigos is located very close to teh historic part of DF (10 mins walk), 5 mins walk from train station, just next to ATM, close to food and the best coffee shops and pubs in the area.

  • Great hostel to stay at while in Mexico City. It is close to the metro station and in a quiet neighborhood. There are computers to use for free and plenty of tourist information available for those looking for places to visit. The cooked breakfast offered was good and served by two nice women.

  • Overall mostly good experience. Dorms were not too loud. Very good warm breakfast options. My biggest complaint is that the "bar" is really just a keg which was not available on the night I wanted to use it. The beer vending machine was empty too. And since guests cannot take alcohol into even the lobby, the morale in the hostel was low that evening.

  • This hostel was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were nice and clean. There was always an event or some sort of tour going on through the hostel. This made our stay a lot easier, as we didn't have to plan as much for our trip as we anticipated. I highly recommend the tours - great guides and transportation service. I also highly recommend the parties/hang out sessions during the evenings - so much fun!!

  • Our double room on the second floor was such a deal. My only complaint is the loud music and the place felt like a frat house but the vibe probably works great for the younger backpackers. Great staff and good breakfast. Oh also this is the only hostel I stayed at that doesn't provide purified water.
