  • I will definitely recommend this hostel for everyone that will visit D.F. The staff was always willing to help with all my questions, has a great location near a metro station, a great atmosphere (the rooftop bar has a good view and good drinks), safety and cleanliness, you can not ask for more.

  • Very cute place conveniently located right in the heart of the historic center. I felt safe and the facilities were clean and easy to use. The staff were overall friendly and helpful. They provide towels and have a calendar of special events that they hold at the hostel. It was unbearably noisy on Saturday night when we were trying to sleep, but the noise level was fine during weeknights. Complementary breakfast included toast, bananas, coffee/ tea, and cereal.

  • I ended up liking this hostel a lot more than I expected to! Sure, it's a huge HI place with all that entails. But that rooftop bar! 've seen few nicer. A crowd hangs out there every night, stopping this big place from being impersonal. Also helping in that regard are the excellent staff and bartenders. Some rooms are much nicer than others (for the same price) so if you don't like your first assignment, move around.

  • Stayed four nights in Feb. 2013. One of my favorite hostels anywhere. The staff is friendly all around, the rooftop bar is fantastic, and you can't beat the location when it comes to easy access to other parts of the city. Sure, the breakfast is awful, and it is quite noisy starting around 9 AM, but it's clean and feels very safe. A great hostel at which to meet people.

  • Location is great, allows you to walk around Mexico's downtown where many sites are walking distance. The private rooms are quite small, not too comfortable, but I guess that's what you get for that price. Wi-fi worked quite well, staff at reception was very friendly and extremely helpful. Overall good value for money.

  • Great place to stay, either for those looking for meeting people (excellent dorms) or for those looking for privacy (as my case, which I stayed in an fantastic private room). The kitchen is great, as well as the restaurant on the main floor. The bar on the terrace is incredible and has a exclusive view of the Zocalo, Mexico City´s main square. Worth each penny.

  • Great location, nice and clean room (a double with private bathroom). Very noisy though due to construction (very thin walls, windows on the central patio are just shutters, no glazing). Luckily noone was noisy during our night, the hostel didn't seem to be fully occupied either, but after 7am when people start to get up it was impossible to sleep without earplugs (and I normally sleep well) - it feels like being in the middle of a marketplace. They do offer earplugs at reception.

  • Hostel Cathedral was a clean, organized and comfortable hostel. Because it shared space with a restaurant, it tended to be noisy during the day and early evening. The terrace was really lovely and a great way to connect with other travellers. I especially liked that the location was so close to so many great sites.

  • Very noisy! This is the first thing I will ever remember regarding this hostel. But it's directly located in the historical center and not that far from the airport.

  • The hostel shares the reception area with a restaurant, which may or may not be owned by the hostel. The waiters do not allow people to sit in the restaurant area without ordering food. This would be fine, except that the wi-fi does not work in all the rooms, so when the computer area is crowded, there is nowhere to sit. The waiters took this approach even when the restaurant was almost empty.
