  • We stayed with Hostel Dioklecjian twice on our trip to Croatia - 3 nights at the start and 1 night at the end. For the 3 night stay at the start there were 4 of us and stayed in a private apartment with en suite. Clean but basic and small is how I'd describe it. Good value though. For the 1 night stay there were 5 of us so were put into 2 separate en-suite apartments. These were incredible, high quality fixtures and fittings, practically hotel standard. Excellent value for money. Great staff too

  • Our room was in a clean apartment at the vert gate of Diocletian Palace. But was crearly someone else's house: we found personal belongings like document, keys and money all around the house. And we found it a bit disturbing, like we were not supposed to stay there. The location was really great: ideal place to start to visit the city, but the street was really noisy in the morning (starting from 6:00 AM).

  • Booking at Hostel Dioklecijan was total failure. We were 3 couples with one baby. So we reservered 3 doubles/ twins. We arrived at the hostel, we paid in advance, then they send us to another apartment facility. There they offered us only 2 doubles with an extra bed and separet bathroom. That was not acceptable for us. After hard discussions, we dealt a discount and one couple had to find an apartment for their one. I will not book Hostel Dioklecian anymore nor will I recommend it.

  • The small apartment within the old palace walls was pretty cool.

  • Got a free upgrade and had a small aptmt with own bathroom and small kitchen, 5min away from the hostel in the heart of old town. The aptmt was prepared for us when we arrived, so sheets and towels were fresh and clean, but we guess the lady forgot to sweep the floor... Rest of the hostel looked very clean, though, at least that was our impression at arrival. One of the ladies seemed really nice, the other one seemed rather stressed out -)
