Hostel Grand Place in Catania, Belgium

This hostel was extremely dissatisfying and disappointing. When I first arrived the manager was in reception busy talking and laughing with his friends and i had to wait 20 minutes until they left before he would even acknowledge me. He then told me I had to walk 15 minutes into the city to check in at anther hostel just to stay at Grand place. He argued with me that I was suppose to already know this but no information was provided and the conversation concluded with him telling me I was lying. jason, from USA ~ 21st Nov 2011

The location couldn't be any more central, but the hostel itself is dark and depressing. In the very small room (for ten people) where I stayed there was hardly any daylight or air - it was claustrofobic. The staff is hardly ever present and you check in at another adress. Another time I would prefer walking ten minutes or more to the Grand Place and stay in a nicer, and less expensive, hostel. Louise, from Denmark ~ 3rd Oct 2011

Good value for money. I only wish that the duves wasn't made of down, since alot of people including me, is allergic to it. And the last night my keycard, and also the guards, didn't work so we had to knock until somebody woke up and could let me in. that was very annoying. But other than that I enjoyed my stay. Very cute hostel in a GREAT location right next to Grand Place. The only thing was that you had to check in in a different location which was a bit far away and it was a pain to haul my bags from one place to the other. Other than that no complaints. Jenny, from USA ~ 15th Sep 2011
