This hostel was dreadful. When we arrived at the hostel the atmosphere was hostile. The staff were not friendly and we didn`t feel particularly welcome. Everyone sat in front of the tv all day and never spoke to each other. I have never been so depressed in my life and wanted to leave immediately. The only positives were the lockers to put your bag in and the female member of staff who was helpful. Avoid this hostel unless you have to.

Good hostel, safe, ok location great tv area with dvds and stuff. Also there is guy called andreis who hangs around at breakfast, his tours are very flexabe, well worth asking!

Great hostel, great people, many facilities, far from any supermarket and few restaurants opened at night, but I recommand this hostel!

We visited the jungle and had hardly any bites, as soon as we got back to Hostel manaus we were covered in either flea or bedbug bites. There were rats frequently in the kitchen and yard area. Some staff were friendly others less friendly. The only plus point about this hostel was the breakfast, very good.

When we arrived the Hostel had given our room away to someone else. I therefore have nothing favourable to say about either Hostel Manaus or Hostels.com

A lovely house, very charming. It seemed that the backpackers where having a lot of fun (karaoke ao), but us being a couple and only staying for one night, we didn't really participate. Staff is very helpfull, Alex might seem a bit distant initially, but is very nice and helpful after all. Can only recommend this hostel as a great starting point for exploring the Amazonas.

The hostel was a great place to meet other travellers. The breakfast area was a great social spot and the hostel was cleaned everyday. It was comfortable, clean and well located within walking distance to the main street and places to eat. The hostel also provides guided tours to the Amazon and a good taxi service. The staff were helpful when questoned but did not arrange any group activities or a well organised notice board. I would return to stay at this hostel.

The only problem is that the hostel is nicer than the town it's in!
