Hostel Ospitalia del Mare - Hostel

This new hostel complex has been created in what was once an Augustinian friary, dating from between the 12th and 13th centuries. It is situated in the heart of the old town of Levanto, a pleasant resort on the Ligurian coast, at about 100 meter from the...

Levanto is a great location outside the Cinque Terre. The hostel is about 10 minutes from the train station, and it is not hard to get into the villages. The hostel was clean, although we could not lock our bags. We also had our own bathroom, which was cool I guess.

Very nice hotel, well located, great and helpful staff. One comment: why close the reception from 8 to 9h30 PM? When I needed information or to check-in, it was mostly at this time...

They only have mixed dorm rooms and I don't like that. Also, the room I had for the first two nights faced the street and was very very noisy.

A lovely hostel, clean, safe and friendly. Location is a bit far from the station but close to the beach. Especially good for a base if your touring Cinque Terre. As good a breakfast as you\'d expect from a hostel. Well priced.

This was a great place to stay if you are planning on going to the 5 coastal towns. Levanto is a very neat town in itself and has a great beach.

This was a solid hostel, the free breakfast was average. Note that this hostel is not in the 5 villages, but is very close. The only complaint is that it was quite difficult to find the hostel from the train station, it is much more than a 10 minute walk (if you follow the signs) that is mentioned on the website.

I'ts very well located with respect to the beach, a bit far away of the train station. But very safe and near to the beach wich is fantastic. The staff excellent!!

THE place to stay around Cinque Terre. The town is very real, not the fake tourist-haven that the Cinque Terre towns seem to have become. This hostel is less than a 5 minute walk from a great beach and the town square with Grocery stores, restaurants, and everything. I enjoyed Levanto much more than Cinque Terre, it is quite beautiful and the people are pleasant. My only complaint would be the 10-15 minute walk between the train and the hostel but it's not that bad. Also, the internet says 5 Euro an hour, but they give half price to hostel people and you can often just use it for free if you don't take a long time. Staff is very friendly, great advice on places to go and give discounts for places in town.

The directions to this hostel were bad. It took me over 30 minutes to find this place and with stopping for directions twice. People in town have never heard of the hostel or the address.

Difficult hostel to rate. Check in hours are quite inconvenient for train travel. We snuck in with another guest and locked our bags up in the breakfast area for the few hours until we could check in. Good location within Levanto, which is a great spot to stay to see the Cinque Terre and avoid touristy areas. An 8 bed room has 1 bathroom with everything within it, only one other communal bathroom, and no other shower option, so not the most convenient bathroom setup.
