The best hostel we ran into during our two week stay in Mexico and Belize. Affordable with a great breakfast, A/C, and free internet.

The dorms were over-booked and I ended up with the hallway "couch" bed. I wasn't happy with this initially, but once I was moved into the dorms things worked out fine. The dorms also had an extra air-con installed, which made the heat manageable. Before that it was difficult to sleep. It's Mexico, so expect to put up with some warm nights. Monika seems to be putting money into the place, which is a good sign. There is also rumors of a pool being built, but don't quote me on this. The wash rooms are good enough. It's a hostel after all. The hosts are friendly and open to help at any time of the day, even 4 in the morning when you're late for your flight and you need directions. Good people work there. The only negative thing was on the first night I noticed several local youngsters doing drugs in the hostel. You're bound to find some of these losers when living in hostels, but I nevertheless don't enjoy having the type around. As the week progressed better people joined us in the dorms. Lockers were big enough for me to store my entire back pack. Security was not an issue for the week I stayed there. Overall, I will return, but only if I can stay in the room with a TV : )

The hostel was excellent. Staff were great and very helpful. Hostel also seemed to attract a good mix of people. Beware the feral child but even he grows on you after a while. I plan to stay again

really nice hostel, no bar or nothing because its not that big - but the chick who runs it organizes trips out to the clubs in the hotel zone. good location in town, but town is a good 15 min bus ride from the beach and all the cancun stuff. i would say the place is cool.
